I’m Back, maybe I never left. Anyhow, I’m writing songs again but with a renewed passion and a new rhythm.
I recently had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time with Noel Richards and his wife Tricia. This couple have been an inspiration to many Christians all over the world, and although I had chatted to Noel very briefly at a Mens’ conference some years ago, this time it was a real chance to get to know them.
What touched me the most is how humble and easy to talk with they both were, and I was very interested to learn that Noel and Trish are now writing more songs that are less “congregational” and much more accessible to every-day people.
I believe it’s a step in the right direction. It’s certainly where I seem to be heading with my writing.
I have always tried to be “non-religious” about my faith. But that doesn’t really mean much to people outside of the Church. So its much more a matter of how you live your life outside the Church ‘box’, what comes out of your mouth, what you are like in the office, how you deal with that homeless guy you see every day on your way home from work.
So it could be a new start for me in more ways than one. I will still write Christian songs, I still have a number of half-written songs that are meant for Christian listeners. But I’m also writing songs that aren’t obviously Christian, unless you know what to look for.
I’m excited. I have a new sense of purpose about it all, and since this is the first time I’ve even looked at my website for a year, I thought it was time to give it a makeover at the same time.
While I think about it, I will start to make all the chord-sheets available to download, coming soon!
Thanks for your interest,
